Aria durso
Theatrical Design is the ultimate creative process. Aria Durso is a working professional with over 9 years of experience as a theatrical and creative designer and technician. Aria has over three years of experience touring with professional Broadway productions as a department head, assistant, and advance and pre-production technician.
Working as a theatrical technician, she strives to combine a professional attitude and skill set
with a committed work ethic. Her drive to always be learning, always evolving as a professional,
led her to teach herself wig making skills like ventilation, lace pattering and facial hair
construction. She is highly skilled at all forms of maintenance and styling for wigs and
facial hairpieces. She also has extensive backstage crew experience, including working
professionally as a dresser and part of a run crew.

She is also a licensed professional makeup artist, having designed makeup for the stage, film and print.
She has extensive experience with all forms of makeup application and design, including SFX makeup design
and prosthetics. Aria has taught makeup application and design, as well as basic costume design and theater history at the university level for 4 years at the University of Tennessee.
Aria spent the last three years on tour with the Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella 2nd National Touring Company as the Head of the Wig and Makeup Department. She is now accepting design and technician work in her hometown of Nashville as she pursues continuing education in professional wig and hair design.
She also accepts work in New York and other areas of the Northeastern theater community.

As designer, she is known for being unconventional in her choices. She is drawn to color and texture, which often leads to choosing non-traditional building materials. Her love of using unusual materials led her to the world of Costume Crafts and learning how to work with many different forms of foams and practice different painting techniques.
